Mango Mousse | Mango Dessert

Serving size : 8 to 10 (small serving)
Preparation time : 15 minutes for preparing
                              30  minutes for jelly setting
                              5 minutes for whipping cream
                              4 hours to set.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup  roughly chopped fresh ripe mango pieces (or canned mangoes)
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped mango pieces
  • 1 tin nestle cream tin or 1 cup thick cream
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 packet mango jelly
  • 2 packets Dream whip powder + 1 cup cold milk
  • 1 cup boiling hot water

Method:

  1. Dissolve mango jelly powder into the boiling water, stir till well dissolved, cool and set aside to set.
  2. In a bowl blend together dream whip powder along with cold milk to form thick cream.
  3. In a blender, blend together set jelly, roughly chopped mango pieces, nestle cream and condensed milk.
  4. Add this blended mixture to the whipped cream and slowly mix till well incorporated. Do not over mix.
  5. Finally add finely chopped mango pieces and set the mixture in individual shot glasses or a big glass serving dish.
  6. Garnish with mango slices and whipped cream.
  7. Set it in the refrigerator for at least 4 to 5 hours before serving.
Note: In case if the dream whip powder is not available, then use ready made whipping cream.
You can make your own home made whipping cream by whisking 2 cups full fat cream till it becomes thick and peaks are formed. Then slowly add 1 cup icing sugar little at a time. Make sure that the cream should be chilled in the refrigerator for 1 hour before whisking.

  4. ASAK...love all your recipes as they are really easy and does not require elaborate cooking..great work! For this recipe, can we use canned mango pulp that we get in US and also cool whip (non dairy whip) instead of dream whip?
