Cheddar Cheese Croquettes with Jalapeno


  • 225 gms flour
  • 500 ml milk
  • 125 gms butter
  • 200 gms cheddar cheese
  • 40 gms jalapenoes
  • 100 gms bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 4 cups oil for deep frying


  1. Cook 125 gms flour and butter in a pan adding milk gradually for 10 min. while stirring on a low flame. Add cheese and jalapeno mix well and let it cool. 
  2. Place it in the refrigerator till this mixture sets. 
  3. Take a spoonful and give it a shape of a tiny ball. Roll it in the remaining flour, then roll into the whisked egg and finally coat it well with the bread crumbs. 
  4. Deep fry till golden and serve hot .

Serves 4
Note: Try frying one as a trial...if needed try coating twice into egg and breadcrumbs (double coating) as the filling might melt and leak out.
