Pahadi Chicken grilled

I've specified the word grilled because there are two versions to this, grilled as well as pot kabab. Pot kabab is when you cook kabab in a sauce pan till the juices dry and meat is cooked. The recipe for both will be the same but the method will differ slightly. I prepared this one using my electric grill pan.

1 cup = 250 ml
500 grams boneless chicken cubed
1 cup mint chopped
1 cup fresh coriander leaves chopped
1 tablespoon green chili chopped
1 teaspoon garlic chopped
1 teaspoon ginger chopped
1 tablespoon yogurt
2 tablespoon mustard oil
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garam masala powder


In a mixer combine all the ingredients and blend to a smooth paste without adding water. Marinate chicken pieces in the masala paste for about 3 to 4 hrs. 
Thread the chicken pieces onto skewers (I used wooden short ones) and grill in an oven or electric grill pan turning the sides every 5 min for even cooking. 
Serve hot with Mint chutney or Raita.

Serves 4 ( as a side dish)
