Calcutta Paratha

you will need:

2 cups plain flour
2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1/4 cup warm milk

Method: Mix all ingredients with enough water to make a soft dough. Divide the dough into 6 equal parts or more. Roll out the balls using cornflour to the size of a saucer sized disc. Spread ghee all over , sprinkle cornflour and make a slit from the center to the edge. Roll and make a cone shape ,press flat and roll out to a chapati size with a rolling pin.

Heat a pan and fry paratha on both sides till done .Spread ghee or butter and serve hot with any gravy.
