Chicken in Garlic Sauce


You will need:

500 gms boneless chicken cubes
1 tsp garlic & ginger paste each
1/2 Tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 egg
3 tbsp cornflour

Mix all the above ingredients together and keep covered for about 1 hr. Deep fry chicken pieces in medium hot oil and set aside.

For the Sauce:

4 tablespoon finely chopped garlic (6-7 big size garlic)
1 tbsp chopped white portion of spring onion
1/2 cup chopped green spring onion.
1 medium size capsicum chopped in cubes
2 tsp chili powder
2 small cups of chicken stock/water
2 tbsp tomato sauce
1 tbsp tomato puree
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tsp salt
pinch of sugar
1 tbsp vinegar
3 tsp cornflour mixed with 1/2 cup water

1) Heat 2 tbsp oil in a small wok and fry garlic till light golden. Then add chopped onion, capsicum along with fried chicken pieces and fry for 1 min on high heat.
2) Lower the heat and add rest of the ingredients - red chili powder, tomato sauce, tomato puree, soy sauce, sugar, 2 cups water, and vinegar. Add salt only if needed.
3) Bring to a boil and slowly add cornflour mixture little by little according to the thickness you need.
4) Cook for a couple of minutes and finally add chopped green spring onion.
