Amritsari Machli | Batter Fried Fish
Punjabi style batter fried fish served as appetizers at parties.

- 500 grams boneless fish cubes Hammour
Marinade:
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 3 tsp chili powder according to one's taste
- 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- ¼ tsp ajwain crushed carom seeds
- ½ tsp roasted cumin powder
- 3 tbsp besan chickpea flour
- 1 tbsp maida plain flour
- Salt to taste
- Few drops of orange-red color
- Chat masala to sprinkle
- 3 cups oil for deep frying
Clean the fish and pat dry on a kitchen towel.
In a glass bowl combine all the ingredients of the marinade to make a smooth paste with a sticky texture. Use drops of water if required.
Add fish pieces to it and mix well and set aside in a refrigerator for 30 min to 1 hr.
Heat oil in a saucepan. Fry the pieces in batches till crispy and cooked. (10 min on each side).
Drain on a kitchen towel. Sprinkle lemon juice and chaat masala and serve hot.
