Slow-cooked dates jam with the flavors of ginger, lemon, and a hint of cinnamon, making it a perfect spread for toast or as a topping for ice creams.

Ingredients

pitted & chopped dates
Medjool
¼
cup
brown sugar

cup
water
3
tablespoon
white vinegar
1
tablespoon
grated ginger
1
tablespoon
lemon juice
1
teaspoon
lemon rind
¼
teaspoon
cinnamon powder
¼
teaspoon
salt
Instructions
Combine all of the above ingredients in a thick bottom saucepan and cook on a slow flame.
Keep stirring to avoid the dates mixture from sticking to the bottom.
Cook for about 20 to 30 minutes or till the water has completely dried up and dates have softened and turned pulpy.
Cool the cooked jam and transfer it to a sterilized and clean glass container.
Store in the refrigerator and serve with warm toast or as a dessert or ice cream topping.
Notes
You can store this Jam for up to 2 months in the refrigerator.
