Mini Cheese buns

Mini Cheese buns are soft dinner rolls stuffed with cheese, herbs, and spices. An ideal dish to be served for breakfast or for lunch box.

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 cups full-fat milk
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • ¼ cup black seeds onion seeds
  • 1 tablespoon cooking cream
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil

For the stuffing (mix together)

  • ½ cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup chopped parsley / fresh coriander
  • 1 tbsp chopped jalapeno/ green chili
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • In a small bowl mix together 2 tbsp warm water, yeast and sugar and set aside for 10 min till it forms into a foam.
  • Mix flour, salt and yeast mixture in a suitable bowl. Add milk and oil then knead the dough until it becomes smooth and soft.
  • Brush the dough with oil and leave aside for about an hour and until it doubles in size.
  • Cut dough into small pieces and stuff it with the stuffing.
  • Roll the stuffed dough into smooth balls and place each ball next to each other.
  • Brush the surface of the balls with cooking cream and sprinkle them with black seeds.
  • Leave them to rest for about 30 minutes and bake at 200 degrees C for 25 to 30 minutes or according to your oven’s temperature. Serve hot with tea or as breakfast.
