I’ve specified the word grilled because there are two versions to this, grilled as well as pot kabab. Pot kabab is when you cook kabab in a saucepan till the juices dry and meat is cooked. The recipe for both will be the same but the method will differ slightly. I prepared this one using my electric grill pan.

Indian style chicken kabab marinated with herbs and spices and grilled to perfection.
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 30 minutes
Marinating Time 4 hours
Total Time 4 hours 45 minutes

Ingredients
  

  • 500 grams boneless chicken cubed
  • 1 cup mint chopped
  • 1 cup fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • 1 tablespoon green chili chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger chopped
  • 1 tablespoon yogurt
  • 2 tablespoon mustard oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions
 

  • In a mixer combine all the ingredients and blend to a smooth paste without adding water. Marinate chicken pieces in the masala paste for about 3 to 4 hrs.
  • Thread the chicken pieces onto skewers (I used wooden short ones) and grill in an oven or electric grill pan turning the sides every 5 min for even cooking.
