Chinese tawa Toast

What is a Tawa Toast?

A tawa toast is a bread recipe. Instead of making a sandwich with stuffing in between 2 slices, we just apply the stuffing on one side. And then fry the bread slices along with the stuffing on a hot pan.

A tawa toast is a different way of enjoying a sandwich. I call these ‘open sandwiches’ and I love to make these for snacks or sometimes as a quick breakfast.

If you have tried my previous post on Chicken and Cheese Bread Toast, you will never make a sandwich again.

The easiest of all the toast is Rava Toast which can be prepared in a few minutes.

In a large mixing bowl, mix together flour and water with the help of a whisk until smooth. Try to add water a little at a time to avoid any lumps. The batter should be thick as well as flowy so that it sticks to the bread slice.

Then add all the chopped ingredients along with all the spices and seasonings and mix well.

Heat a non-stick pan with 2 teaspoons of cooking oil on low heat for 2 minutes.

Take a bread slice and evenly spread 1 to 2 tablespoons of vegetable mixture.

Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of sesame seeds and fry the bread slice on the pan with the vegetable side down.

While the bread is cooking on one side, spread 2 tablespoons of the vegetable mixture on the other side along with sesame seeds.

Toast the bread on low to medium flame for 5 minutes on each side or until it turns crispy and golden.

Serve hot as a snack with red chili sauce.
